The brand pack $5 · pay what you want

Your logo, brighter than white.

A normal image stops at the white of the page. Your pack uses the maximum supported HDR brightness, so the light parts can shine beyond it on a compatible screen. Every pack also hangs a lantern with your name on the board.

What is in the pack

Your logo, encoded at the same fixed HDR brightness in the sizes a brand actually uses. It is built in your browser from the file you upload; the unencoded logo goes only to our storage.

What a pack looks like once it is unzipped, for a logo that reads "Your logo". These previews are SDR and can only pretend; the real files carry the profile that makes them glow.

What your payment changes

Every payment receives the same maximum-brightness HDR pack. Paying above $5 only makes your lantern brighter and moves it higher on the board.

Where it shows

Use the SDR sticker and card anywhere. Instagram and Threads support HDR photos on compatible devices. Other platforms may tone-map or flatten HDR uploads. The HDR files use an encoding range up to 10,000 nits. Actual brightness depends on the image, app, device, display, and processing.

Shows the glow
  • Safari and Chrome on an HDR display: MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPad Pro, most flagship Android phones
  • Your own website and app, as an ordinary image tag
  • A slide on an HDR screen
  • Instagram and Threads can display compatible gain-map HDR photos
Falls flat
  • X, LinkedIn and Slack may tone-map or flatten HDR uploads
  • Email clients
  • Every SDR screen, and every screenshot of any of this
  • Battery saver on most phones dims HDR to nothing

That is why the board exists. The only way to see the glow is to open it on a screen that can, so the board is where people open it.

Your lantern

Every pack hangs one lantern on the board with your name painted on it, and it links to your site or your X profile. You choose the shape, round, long, an andon box or a bronze one, and the paper, red, white, banded or striped. The higher you paid, the higher it hangs and the brighter it burns, from paper white at $5 to the cap.

Claiming #1

The board is ranked by what each lantern has paid in total. Pay more than the top lantern and yours hangs first and burns brightest. Anyone can pay more and pass you; nobody emails you when they do, you just see your lantern move. Paying again on the same link adds to your total, so passing someone costs the difference plus a dollar, never the whole amount again. Equal totals keep their order: the earlier lantern stays ahead.
